Div 3 Women’s v Ashburton – Match Report

The girls had a very promising start to the season in a game where they had all the possession and all the chances but ended up losing 1-0.

If it hadn’t been for several near misses and good saves by the opposition keeper we could have scored 10!

While the goals weren’t there the girls played very well and will be very competitive in a division higher than last year.

Well down to our new senior girls Angie and Jess in their first senior game.

Div 2 Women’s v South Springvale – Match Report

Having coming down from Div 1, we did not know what to expect from Sth Springvale. They started the game quickly and applied early pressure but it became clear that they would soon run out of steam.

It was a fast and physical first half that saw us 3-0 up at the break.

In the second half they slowed down and our fitness took over. The hard tackles kept coming and we gave as good as we got, eventually running out 6-0 battered and bruised winners.

Not our best game overall but some very well worked goals.

Goals: Simone 3, Ebru, Shannen, Nicole.
